Heavy Guitar Riffs, Tearing Vocals and over the top Mastering production fills The Oracle What was, Is and Could Have Been by All Else Fails.

“Overature” starts the album off with a slow tempo orchestra sting and percussion sections playing, for the first twenty seconds its sounds as if they are just warming up as at the twenty second mark of the song everything stops for a couple of seconds before the song starts up again. But don’t worry this only last for a few more seconds before the alternative edge of All Else Fails plays out overtop of everything. I thought this was a interesting choice for a song let alone the intro song for the album. It adds to the highly mastered aspect of the album but doesn’t really blend together with any of the other songs on the album.

The album picks up and begins for me as “This World In Flames” begins to play. Heavy vocals greet your ears as the song begins with one of the many lead riffs to come plays along side. For the vocals being as harsh sounding as they are the production value of the album comes into play as the light and low layers/tones of the vocals have been taken off leaving behind a more monotone sounding screams. There is so much to listen to in this song that I probably listened to the song at least ten times just to take everything in. The added backing tracks to the song really adds to the production value in the song. The drums and guitars almost battle it out for supremacy in the song as there is almost a constant cymbal crashing sound throughout the song along with a tremendous amount of force added to the kick and snare drum. I am only going to touch a little on the guitars as there is way too much to talk about there, pick harmonics are placed in just the right moments in the song and gives the vocals a added element to go off of. The polished sounding riffs and lead guitars blend together in irreplaceable sync and sound.  The second last song on the album has an acoustic version of the song which pretty much flips this version upside down.

“Rebirth” blows away all of the other songs up to this point in the album with heavier guitars/drums and vocals. The mixture between the heavy scream and alternative vocals sound great in the song while also sharing what I think is the lead vocal duties. The timing between the guitars and drums becomes unbeatable as the song progresses further and further. More backing tracks find their way into the song but for me damage the songs integrity quite harshly, by adding the string section to the song and finishing out the song on a fade out to me destroyed what the song built up. I was cranking the song up every time that I listened to it but the backing tracks really started to steer me away from the song.
