Bringing together the influences of The Black Crowes, Led Zepplin, Alice In Chains, Guns ‘n’ Roses just to name a few Matt Beal as fused them all together to write all of his own songs and create his sound. This album is really made more from the love of playing his wide collection of guitars (you should stop by his site and check out the collection) and making music, than what I feel is about anything else.

Matt Beal being the artist is also behind the music he was also producer of Contributions For An Atom Bomb. While getting frustrated with the bad corporate music Matt Beal created along with fellow co-founder Kori Lynn.the Indie Label Corporate Anarchy. Corporate Anarchy is based out of Los Angeles California and has three artists under its label Matt Beal, Kori Lynn and Linda Stevens.

When I first put the album in the cd player in my car and Atom Bomb first came on in about ten seconds when the song takes off I immediately turned my stereo up. My mind started to race and I thought right away of The Trews, and The Black Crowes (Shake Your Money Maker era). The song starts out with what sounds like a one year old saying “I wanna sing it with my Guitar”(which exactly what he does with his songs) - but is actually Matt at age two and a half - Then the thumping of the drums start which leads right into the Vocals and the Guitar by Matt Beal. Everything works really well in this song; this is just a plain out great rock song. I especially like the main riff and the guitar solos throughout the song. If I could hear and see this song live it would diffidently put it over the top for me. The lyrics are a written for what I think is the setting for the race for the Atom Bomb in WWII, but are in actual fact about the current situation in the United States and how the government uses the Country’s money to create these horrific weapons of mass destruction while the country is falling apart. “Atom Bomb was also produced with mike Wolpe, Mike also helped out with “Get In” and “Loves The Drug”.

“Get In” is the second song off of the album. The opening riff shows the Led Zepplin and possible Metallica coming out of Matt Beal. The riff is quite with a medium based tone which runs about ten seconds. The lyrics for the song are driven right from the frustration that Matt has for the “Corporate Music World”. The posers “ Image Fakers”, how they fill hopefuls full of what they want to hear. Here are a couple of sections in no particular order from the song.

All of the people trying to get in
The image fakers, tales they spin
Attached to their anchors trying to swim
I watch all the people trying to get in
They tell you what you want to hear
They whisper in your ear
We'll manage your career
They act so sincere, while they feed upon your fear
And take the things that you hold dear
A little more every year
They tell you exactly what you want to hear

Track 5 “Cuffyvitmitt” is a Reggae Rock song that has a heavy guitar riff - Metal like deepness and heaviness- then the song kicks into Big Sugar style Reggae Rock. Although Matt and many people might not know who Big Sugar was, you might have heard of the lead Guitarist Gordy Johnson. If you Canadian you know what I am talking about. Also not forgetting to mention, Matt takes off and does another one of his great guitar solos halfway through the song. Matt’s guitar solos is what is setting this album aside from other rock albums that I have heard. Where some musicians think that their solos are the greatest and probably do look good on stage, but they don’t always fit into the song where in Matt’s case I think they are the perfect fit for his songs.

“Love’s The Drug” has a Pop Reggae Rock sound to it. “Love’s The Drug” I Feel and could easily hear/see has the probability and the ability of getting air play from different format radio stations because of the way that Matt again has fused different Genre together.

Other notable facts about Matt Beal and the album is Mike Wolpe helped produce the songs “Atom Bomb”, “Get In” and “Loves The Drug”. The rest of the songs he had help from Ben Redfern, Miyuki Nakamura, and Matt Rhode. Matt Beal also used to have a band called Taller. The band members included Ben on Drums and Miyuki on Bass.
