Beautiful Inferno
Gasoline Rainbow
Beautiful Inferno new release Gasoline Rainbow proves that Kingston still knows how to Pump Out Alternative Rock Music
Throughout the ten tracks on Gasoline Rainbow Beautiful Inferno touches base with a few different sounds. Track six Redundancy is a Acoustic track which Alice In Chains fans will enjoy. One item about the album which I like is the tempo arrangement of the album the tempo changes from song to song. The songs are not grouped together with the slower tempo and the faster tempo songs playing back to back.
The members of Beautiful Inferno are Mike Brown on vocals and guitar. Curt Sproule on Guitar, Andrew Tuijtel on drums and Mike Cooper on Bass guitar.
A catchy hook is all you need to catch the ear of any listener and track four called “Take Caution” has that catchy opening hook. The hook is played throughout the song between the verses and through a verse. The hook is also switched up a little bit which was a nice addition to the song. You can still tell that the chord play is based on the hook but mixes up the song enough so the song doesn’t sound so repetitive.
The track that follows “Take Caution” has a equally catchy intro. Even though it is not a hook that catches the ear, but the my drive to hear a heavy alternative intro. I think the song could have done a little better if the vocals had more of a alternative edge to match the instruments, and a little higher in pitch. The vocals were also a little hard to understand in parts as well. The song also ended short as well it sounds like there was another couple of seconds left on the track but was cut off in the editing room.
If you are a fan of the Alice In Chains, and Days Of the New down tuned acoustic guitar playing then you will probably enjoy Redundancy. Out of the songs on the album this is my favourite song for the sound and the vocals. The deeper toned vocals is a great match for the down tuned acoustic guitar. Another highlight of the song is the speed of the song .I think if the song was played and faster or slower I believe the song overall quality of the song would be lost. Another aspect of the vocals that I liked is the rasp that is added to a couple of the lines in the song.
